Effortless Collaboration, Infinite Potential

Written by Raiana Kelly

Partner Software is releasing version 1.2 of Orbitas Data Bridge, previously known as the Orbitas Module.

Orbitas Data Bridge, powered by Partner Software, is a collaborative effort between Tri-Global Technologies and Partner Software to offer superior data management to our shared clients.

Orbitas Data Bridge debuted in 2023 to allow two-way integration between the Partner Field Design System and the Orbitas Resource Management System. Referred to until 2025 as “The Module,” Orbitas Data Bridge is a straightforward integration tool that sends locations, stations, and units from an existing Field Design staking job to Orbitas, allowing users to modify and add to them in that environment before pulling the data back into Field Design.

To reduce confusion, Tri-Global and Partner Software have jointly decided to rebrand the Orbitas Module as Orbitas Data Bridge, powered by Partner Software. Along with this rebranding, version 1.2 of Orbitas Data Bridge includes several highly anticipated updates.

  • When a Job is uploaded in Orbitas, the GUID confirms that the Job was successfully uploaded and automatically refreshes the Job list.
  • A date and time stamp has been added as a prefix to all Job names to make them unique inside Orbitas.
  • Importing the name from the Orbitas Job is now optional.
  • A LineType support on the Location Information for back spans.
  • Support for “Custom” unit information to be sent in the unit JSON feature.
  • Mapping GUIDS are now sent back and forth so all imported Jobs will have populated mapping GUIDS.
  • Datums are sent back and forth at the beginning of the JSON for a smoother conversion.
  • Add Span Length and Phase importing issues have been fixed.
  • Added a Company Settings option so that a cooperative can set a preferred company-wide standard for settings.

Tri-Global will offer up to two hours of professional services consultation for new and existing clients who want to sync custom LineTypes and Unit Headers in their configuration.

While the original version of Orbitas Data Bridge debuted in 2023, our relationship with Partner Software spans over 20 years. We have a rich history of creating collaborative solutions to improve your workflow.

Tri-Global and Partner Software; A History of collaborative solutions

In 2000, Tri-Global focused on supporting Partner Software’s clients by combining their Staking Buddy software for the Palm Pilot data collectors with the Trimble ProXR technology.

In 2003, Trimble released its first Windows Compact Edition (CE) compatible sub-meter device called the GeoXT. Many of Partner Software’s clients desired to use Staking Buddy on the GeoXT CE device. However, Partner Software did not have expertise with Windows Explorer CE, so Tri-Global began the development of a Windows CE-based Staking Buddy in connection with Partner Software.

In 2005, Trimble released the GeoExplorer 2005 series, which coincided with the release of MobileStaker, a collection software for Windows Mobile devices created by Tri-Global Technologies. Hawkeye REC, now known as MiEnergy, was our first joint installation. Hawkeye REC used the collaborative power of Tri-Global and Partner Software to assess ice damage with FEMA.

From 2005 to 2016, we worked alongside Partner Software to continuously support our shared clients and the expanding list of Trimble equipment. When Microsoft began to sunset its Windows Mobile OS, we recognized the industry’s growing desire to use less cumbersome mobile devices, tackling the challenge of adapting to the variety of mobile devices coming onto the market by creating UtiliPad, an iOS-compatible software, and launching the first Asteri GNSS receivers.

In 2019 Partner Software was by our side and created a direct integration for our UtiliPad software inside of Partner Staking called the UtiliPad Module. Our relationship with Partner Software has continued to expand, with Partner now a reseller of our Asteri GNSS line and our Orbitas software solutions.

Throughout our relationship with Partner Software, we have strived to provide intuitive tools that effortlessly integrate with Partner Field Design. Orbitas Data Bridge, powered by Partner Software, is the latest example of our dedication to working together to provide staking professionals with precise field measurements, seamless integration, and superior data management.
