The Role

As an Associate Developer you will be mentored directly by our Director of Software Engineering to master the full lifecycle of our core geospatial data collection software, Orbitas.

This position will expose you to multiple levels of the stack and give you hands-on experience in UI/UX, database administration, API design, and cloud architecture.

You will be responsible for building robust feature sets including design, documentation, implementation and maintenance.

What You’ll Build First

  • Immersive Navigation: You’ll be the lead on adding navigation hotspots to our 360-degree photo viewer.
  • Spatial Reporting: Building a map-printing function that allows account administrators to generate physical assets from digital geospatial data.

What to Expect

This position will be 100% on-site at our main office located in Athens, Georgia, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work schedule as workflows are established. 

As a foundational member of the engineering team, we expect your skillset and knowledge base to grow and your role in the company to grow along with it. This includes salary increases, performance based bonuses, and new challenges and responsibilities.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Angular / React / Vue
    • Our current stack is Angular-based but we are happy to help an expert in React/Vue  transition.
  • Typescript / JavaScript
  • CSS (SASS)
  • Basic SQL
  • SOLID principles & OOP
  • An eye for UI/UX: Ability to build interfaces that feel intuitive.

Bonus Skills & Knowledge

  • C# (.NET) / Swift / Kotlin
  • PostgreSQL / PostGIS
  • Experience with mapping libraries (Leaflet, Google Maps, Mapbox)

Compensation

    • Salary: $52,000 – $65,000* (commensurate with experience)
  • Benefits: 
    • 401(k) with 3% company match.
    • Employee-covered health, dental, and vision insurance. 
    • Pre-defined paid holidays, sick leave, and paid time off. 
    • Annual evaluation for salary increases and bonuses. 

*All employees are hired on a 90-day mutual evaluation period after which the full salary and benefits package starts. This position will pay $25-$30 per hour for this period. Our goal is for every hire to become a long-term, full-time member of the team. This period is simply to ensure we’re the right fit for each other.
