Job Menu

Jobs Menu

The Job menu screen is the default home screen for Orbitas Field.
When Orbitas first launches the user is brought to the Job menu. Here you can create new jobs, download assigned jobs. You can also delete and rename created jobs.

Creating a Job

To create a new job click on the PLUS PAGE icon in the top right corner.

Next click in the text box to bring up your iOS device keypad.

Enter your job name as desired. Be mindful of special characters like @&*+/ and extra spaces  after your job name as these may interfere with other programs database schemes  upon export.

Click SAVE once done to be brought back to the Job menu.

Make sure to select your job by clicking on it from the list to open.

The job name should be displayed in the top center of the map screen.

To access the job menu from within the main map screen simply click on the FOLDER icon.

Downloading an Assigned Job

Jobs assigned from Orbitas RMS can be downloaded to your iOS device for continued data collection with Orbitas Field.

To download any jobs assigned to you simply access the job menu and click on the DOWNLOAD icon at the bottom of the screen.

Make sure your iOS device is able to connect to the Internet.

Tri-Global recommends using a wi-fi network for the fastest downloads. Network speed, quantity, and size of job(s) will result in varied download speeds.

Select your job as normal to begin mapping.

Renaming a Job

Orbitas Field gives you the ability the rename any job you choose.

To do so simply enter the job menu and click on the PENCIL icon at the bottom of the page.

You will notice a red box now outlines the PENCIL icon.

Now select the job you wish to rename by clicking on it.

Enter your job name as desired. Be mindful of special characters like @&*+/ and extra spaces  after your job name as these may interfere with other programs database schemes  upon export.

Make sure to click on the PENCIL icon again to end renaming mode.

Click on the job of your choosing to open.

Deleting a Job

To delete a job from your Orbits job list enter the job menu and click on the TRASH CAN icon in the top left corner. A red circle with a white line will appear next to your job names.

To pull up the delete button you can either SWIPE LEFT on the job name or click on the red circle on the left of job name. Click on the DELETE button. 

Click on the DELETE button and click OK to confirm.

‍If you selected the wrong job, simply click CANCEL.

‍Once done, click the TRASH CAN icon again to exit Delete mode.

*Once a file is deleted from an iOS device it can not be recovered unless a copy exists within Orbitas RMS. Make certain you are deleting the correct file.

Uploading a Job

With an active internet connection you can easily upload any collected data to Orbitas RMS for further enhancement or production. 

When you are finished collecting your job within Orbitas Field it needs to be sent to Orbits RMS for export or further analysis.

To upload the current job simply click on the ACTIONS icon then select the CLOUD icon.

Orbitas will check your credentials and license. If there is an error in your license you receive an error message.

If the job was successfully uploaded you will receive a ,message stating “Job Uploaded”

If you would like to upload another job simply click on the JOB icon, select your job to open and repeat the above process. 

All successfully uploaded jobs will have a green cloud and photo icon next to the job name.
